2014 RSOC Concourse and “The Dr’s Observation Run”

Replacing the recently postponed “Forgotten Ford Sunday” in Parramatta Park as a venue for our annual Concourse, we ventured to Australiana Village at Wilberforce NSW on Sunday 30th November for the rescheduled event, which followed “The Dr’s Observation Run” on the same day.

Both events were well patronised, and popular with those who came along. Likewise, the venue also proved to be a good alternative, where we had a good space to display the cars and both wives/girlfriends and children had plenty to hold their attention, other than our cars, and some much appreciated shade.

The winners of the Observation run, which we opened to members and non members alike, was Team Kluger, crewed by Rachel Hockey & David Godoy, assisted by Taliya, Lincon & Charlie. The Kluger team were followed home by Herman & Bekah from the Small Ford Car Club in their trusty Mk 2 Panel Van, who were relieved to have lasted the distance, as the van seems to have developed a distaste for the longer runs!

After the Concourse judges had done their thing, the results of all of the polishing by entrants looked like this :-

Best Mk 1 RS Escort – Stephen Roser
Best Mk 2 RS Escort – Robert Ramsay
Best RS Capri – Mark Dilanian
Best RS Cosworth – Garth Davidson
Best RS Focus – Tom Chaplin
Best Non RS – Mark Hockey
Peoples Choice – Garth Davidson
Furthest Traveled – Tom Chaplin

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a successful day, and a big welcome to our newest members Shaz & Steve, and Keith Breckon, all of whom joined on the day. Even though Keith couldn’t stay the whole day due to prior commitments, he was kind enough to take photographs of all of the Competitors in the Observation Run as they started – good man !

Honorable mention also to Daniel Reynolds. Dan came all the way from Brisbane to attend our Concourse. And the fact that he was in Sydney for a work related function had no bearing on his attendance. At all.
